Low Boiler Pressure
When a boiler loses pressure it is rare but quite serious. The best way for the novice is to look at the fitted gauge on the boiler. If you are not confident to do this or are concerned about any plumbing issue you can call a professional service like Blackheath Plumbers who are skilled tradesmen. NOTE: Lost pressure can be the result of a leak in a pipe or even a failure in the expansion equipment that you have installed. There are some very brief guidance notes to help to restore the pressure in your central heating system:Constant pressure is an important part of the correct running anfd heating of the system. The pressure in the majority of modern combination boilers is kept by the flow of cold water supply through something known as a filling loop. The system pressure can be restored vie the loop. Read your boilers user manual to find out if you can do this yourself. Manually Pressurise:1). Locate the filling loop and also the pressure gauge. Confirm that the pressure gauge is being monitored whilst accessing the filling loop (1.5 bar is the best pressure for a sealed system). This loop usually has a silver flexible tube with two handles. If they are across the pipe then they are off. Once you have indentified the loop and its handle, you can turn them slowly so they both line up with the pipework. You should now be able to hear the water moving in the line. A Blackheath Plumber is fully qualified to use a filling loop.2). Secondly, monitor the pressure gauge rising into the green or showing the 1.5 bar required pressure. Now place both the handles back to their original positions.Note: You can over pressure these systems, so you should always monitor the pressure gauge, any problems with this action should be directed to a professional plumber.
